At Light and Life Counseling, we are dedicated to helping our clients achieve their therapeutic goals. Our counselors provide personalized care and support to individuals and couples.
Types of Therapy
Our counselors support clients in addressing a range of therapeutic concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, and life's transitions.
Individual Counseling
Throughout the journey of individual counseling, you will receive support and guidance in navigating personal challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-doubt, or major life changes. At Light and Life Counseling, you will experience a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore emotions, identify patterns of thinking and behavior, and develop coping strategies. Personal growth during therapy can look like increased self-awareness, improved emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and enhanced problem-solving skills. Our therapists empower our clients to build resilience, gain clarity, and create meaningful, positive changes in their lives.
Couples Counseling
Relationship challenges, such as communication issues, recurring conflicts, trust concerns, or major life transitions can be explored in a structured, neutral space with our therapists. Partners can express their feelings, understand each other’s perspectives, and develop healthier ways to navigate disagreements. Couples can work towards improved communication, strengthened emotional connection, conflict resolution skills, and a deeper understanding of each other’s needs and expectations. Our therapists support couples on their journey to a more resilient and fulfilling relationship, whether the goal is to repair existing issues or enhance an already strong bond.
EMDR
During a traumatic event, the brain's natural processing system can become overwhelmed, causing distressing memories to remain "stuck" in an unprocessed state, leading to emotional and physiological symptoms. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is designed to help individuals reprocess these memories by using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation. This process allows the brain to reintegrate traumatic memories in a more adaptive way, reducing their emotional intensity and fostering healthier cognitive associations. If determined to be a good fit, our Light and Life therapist, Courtney Lipscomb, LPC provides EMDR.
